THEY FOUND OUT REST IS A REAL DISASTER RELIEF

Jim and Cheri run a Christian disaster relief organization that keeps them running at a pace that is nearly impossible to sustain.  Board members saw their deep fatigue and sent them to Shepherds Care to ‘fall apart’.  Here is their story:

I am so grateful for the time that Jim and I were blessed with through Shepherd’s Care and the kindness of other believers. After a very busy summer ministry-wise, we were able to spend uninterrupted time together, focused on each other and what the Lord had for us.

To unplug from ministry, the expectations of others, and all the extras of life and just focus on the present and the rest that the Lord had for us was amazing and rejuvenating! I will forever see “Selah” in a different light and will remember the blessing of rest that was poured out on us.

God even held off any hurricanes while we were in Bluffton. Jim left for Valdosta to help with Hurricane Idalia less than a week after we returned home and will be down there for close to two weeks.

We are so touched and thankful for the generosity of Shepherd’s Care ministry partners who enabled us to do some things that we typically wouldn’t have the opportunity to do. The accommodations were beautiful and restful, the food and books were wonderful, and the gift certificates, cash gift, and recommendations were amazing and helpful! We didn’t need to spend brain power figuring out what to do, just deciding when we wanted to do it.
