A GIFT THAT MADE ME CRY...
Patty and I will never stopped being amazed at how the Lord provides everything needed for Shepherds Care.
We are currently still raising support for about 50% of our budget and so appreciate everyone who has partnered with us on a monthly or regular basis. What about the other 50% you may ask? Well, we enjoy wonderful surprises every month when the Lord gives us what we need just when we need it. Thank you Jesus!
Recently we had a very hard night at the Friesen house as we prepared to get our Grandkids in bed at our house for the last time. Our kids had heard from the Lord and they were headed to Idaho for a new chapter of their family’s life. As we were getting kids in bed (they were with us the week before they moved) I was kind of proud at how I had kept my emotions in check all day (there were a few secret tears- but the kids didn’t see them) as I didn’t want to add to the drama of them leaving. As I went into my home office, I noticed a bag of money on my desk and thought that my oldest Granddaughter must have mistakenly left it there. I carried it into her bedroom and gave it to her to pack, but she said, “That’s for you and Grandma- I want it to go to Shepherds Care.” I froze as the reality hit me that my precious Granddaughter was partnering with us in our adventure. That’s when the tears started… Her gift became so precious to us and we caught a peak at what The Father must feel when we honestly give our all to Him.
Over the last coupe of years there were several times that our Granddaughter had come with us to help set up homes for our Guests. In serving, she caught the vision of what we are doing, and why. Her response was to give what she had. We trust that God will keep working this miracle in other hearts and that through their partnership, we can give it all away to weary Shepherds.
