FROM THE "HOOD" TO THE BEACH

Florence works on some of the roughest streets in Nashville to bring freedom to the homeless and addicted. One thing he has never experienced is REST. The impact of a week of rest can be heard in his words and in the video below.

I just want to send a very heartfelt THANK YOU!!! to you, your team and everyone that was instrumental in providing me with this much needed ministry of rest. This is exactly what I needed. With only having a vague idea of what I would be experiencing, I must say that I was overwhelmingly amazed at the level of love, thought and care that went into this retreat. I could feel the loving arms of Abba embrace me the moment that I arrived, however, It took about a day and a half to truly disconnect and fall back into the hands of God and really enjoy this time of rest. The Lord couldn't have chosen a more perfect fit for this assignment than you and Patty and I'm forever grateful that our paths crossed. Sitting on the beach and gazing out into the ocean is my absolute happy place on this earth and being able to do that for an entire week is something that I've never done before and it truly provided restoration for my tired soul. Being out on the water witnessing the dolphins dance in sync with the music that was playing was awesome and miraculous and also something that I had never seen before. I was awestruck as God was showing off allowing me to see His glory. I even had my first golf experience at a really nice golf/country club and this is the type of place that I never imagined I would ever step foot on. Again, I'm still in awe of the very special care that Jesus gives His children, particularly me this time through your obedient hands. Thank you thank you thank you a thousand times for all that you do to serve the Kingdom this way. It's so beautiful that there are people like you all who care enough to minister to those who minister to others for a living. Ministry is not a very coveted lifestyle for obvious reasons but we love it and glory be to God for the work of Shepherd's Care that provides rest for the weary souls of Gods leaders. And for personally ushering me into a renewed, recharged, ready to rock! mindset.
